So this is another tag from
YouTube, and I thought it would be fun. The idea is that you invite eleven
people to a dinner party and all the people are characters from books, and here
are my eleven people.
1. One character who can cook/likes to cook
I think
Molly Weasley from the Harry Potter series. She always seems to make
spectacular food. And she seems to enjoy making food for her family and their
friends. I also think she’s a pretty awesome person
2. One character who has money to fund the party
I would
want Chandresh Christophe Lefevre from the Night Circus to throw the party. He
has funds and a huge house and in the book he throws amazing parties, with
intense themes. He would invite amazing guests and entertainment, maybe Celia
or Marco, or Tsukiko, I think that he could throw a spectacular party
3. One character who might cause a scene
Zaphod
Beeblebrox. I know he’s insane and he would go completely over the top with
everything, but I think he could cause interesting scenes. He could bring the
party to a screeching halt because he would try to take over the Galaxy or
something. Zaphod is fun though, he’d cause something spectacular to happen.
4. One character who is funny/amusing
Mat
Cauthon from the Wheel of Time books. He seems to always have something fun
planned. He always has funny stories. He has a lot of memories that aren’t his
and that could make for interesting stuff. He would start some gambling or play
music or make off with all the women in the party because he’s a charming
son-of-a-bitch.
5. One character who is super social/popular
I just
finished the first Vampire Academy book, and I have no imagination, apparently,
so I thought maybe Lissa. She’s very popular before she does the whole
compulsion thing and she’s nice and sweet and if she didn’t get along she could
just compel them into liking her. That’s fun. I worry my inner sociopath is
coming out.
6. One villain
I’m going
to say Moriarty, yes, let’s invite the psychopath. I don’t think he would kill
anyone. He’d be sitting there pulling the strings and he’d do something
awesome, pit people against each other, and it would be interesting. He’s not a
get your hands dirty kind of guy, he’s a sit in the background and grin widely
at the chaos he’s made.
7. One couple – doesn’t have to be romantic
So this is
another Night Circus character. I’d like Poppet and Widget to come. They’re
twins, born the night the circus opened and they’ve grown up with it. They’re
funny, they have little tricks and they have a really interesting dynamic, and
you don’t get to see much of them in the book, so I’d like to see more of them.
8. One hero/heroine
I would
ask Phedre from the Kushiel’s legacy books. She’s really interesting, and she’s
a sort of unlikely hero and I think that’s awesome. And she really is a hero,
she saves her country again and again no matter what is required and that’s
really impressive, so go her. I think she would be a perfect guest too, she
knows everything about behaving in polite circles. She’d be great. And she and
Moriarty could sit and figure each other out.
9. One underappreciated character.
I don’t know that she actually is underappreciated,
but I would invite Sansa Stark. It feels like her family all write her off
because she’s always done what she’s supposed to and never really broken rules
or followed in Arya’s footsteps, she’s just this sweet underestimated girl. I
feel like she’s never been able to show how good she can be. When she lives
with Petyr she takes responsibility and she turns into this grown woman who
does what she can and she learns and I really like her. She’s also learning
from Petyr, which is making her more awesome. So I’d want her to come. And
she’s a very polite and nice young woman so I think she’d get on well with the
rest.
10. One character of your own choosing
Luna
Lovegood. I would totally invite Luna Lovegood to come to my party. She is my
favorite Harry Potter character. She’s funny, and weird and she’s delightfully
awesome and she would confuse Moriarty. I think Luna would be a good guest.
