The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 12th and runs through Sunday, May 18th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 10 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team
So this is the first update, whoo.
I haven’t gotten off to a soaring start, I started the
week by coming home from Prague and being exhausted, and then going to a
football game instead of reading, because I was so tired reading seemed like an
insurmountable overtaking. I did read my normal amount though, in that I read
on the bus from work.
I feel like today will be the day though. Because there’s
no more TV until June apparently, this is how I structure my life by the way,
so I can read today. I have been reading Alias Grace on the bus, which is fun,
fun is the wrong word, interesting is a better word. I plan on reading
Necromancing the Stone today, because as fun as murder and squalid living
conditions in the 1800s are, I feel like I need some fun. And the first book in
the series was great.
