This week’s Top 5 Wednesday is authors I would like to meet. It’s going
to be really earnest. Because I’m enthusiastic when I want to be. In no
particular order by the way. Also, I shouldn’t meet my heroes, because I did
meet one of my favourite authors and I almost wasn’t able to speak. And when I
did speak I had to force myself to not say something incredibly lame or
stalk-y, which I am prone to do. Yeah, I bet you’d love to meet me. Top 5 Wednesday is a meme started by Ginger reads Lainey and has a Goodreads group.
Neil Gaiman
I’m pretty sure that if I actually ran into Neil Gaiman I would have a
minor panic attack, or a huge one, and then I would not be able to talk to him,
or even breathe near him. I love his writing, I think he’s amazing, and I like
his hair. That took an odd turn. He’s just sort of incredible and I would love
to tell him and then blush and walk off.
Patrick Rothfuss
This is mostly because his beard is amazing. It’s not, I love his books
and he seems incredibly cool, but his beard is outstanding. If you haven’t seen
it treat yourself. I think his books are absolutely amazing, and I’ve seen him
in videos and he just seems incredible. I also follow his reviews on Goodreads
and he is so enthusiastic and fun and he loves books so much, which I love.
Lish McBride
She just seems like so much fun. Her books are incredible, they’re
smart, they’re funny, they’re clever, I love them. I think it’d be fun to get
drunk with her basically. My kind of people.
J.K. Rowling
I’m a cliché so I need to meet J.K. Rowling. I don’t think I’d be able
to form coherent thoughts necessarily, but it would be great. I grew up with
Harry Potter, it’s a huge part of my childhood and I love J.K. Rowling, because
she’s awesome. She just seems lovely.
Brandon Sanderson
For a reason that might be odd. I love him, obviously, but also, he finished
Wheel of Time, for which I am forever grateful. I love him for that. It also
led me to Brandon Sanderson’s other stuff. And he’s great, because wow. I must
read more of his stuff this year.
So these are the authors I would love to meet, who would you like to
meet? Would you manage to say a coherent sentence? Let me know.
